I wrote a Doctor Who fic today, after last night's finale. I wasn't too happy with the way it ended, so I wanted to do this as a sort of catharsis, to work through my bitterness and fix what I didn't like. I wasn't planning on doing it as anything more than an exercise for me, but I've been nagged to post it, so I will.

It's called 'The Waiting Game', it is of course a Doctor/Rose fic, and I reckon it's a PG. Obviously, there are MAJOR spoilers for 'Doomsday'. I won't do a summary, because spoilerness is baaad.

Here are my 50 sentences about Kara 'Starbuck' Thrace. I've given up trying to make them 100% satisfactory to me, because I always want to say more than a single sentence will allow. Oh well. It was an exercise, at least, and I did manage to do some stuff that I'm really happy with as well.

I wrote a fic! A Firefly fic!

Talk about taking a long writing hiatus. I was even starting to think that I'd completely lost the interest in writing for a while, but today I just thought 'I want to write something', so I grabbed my notebook and curled up in bed and wrote down the first thing that came into my mind. It was very theraputic, and the hour that I'd decided I would write for easily turned into two before I finished and looked up to check the time.

This is probably the least edited thing I've ever written, because I just wrote it because I wanted to write something, not because I had a burning idea that absolutely had to be written absolutely perfectly or I wouldn't be able to sleep and my life would be over. I scribbled it down, typed it up and left it pretty much entirely in that state, so I'm going to keep it flocked, at least for now (It's been demanded that I unlock it. How spoilt :P). Any comments and criticisms are still greatly appreciated (and hoped for) though.

It's a River fic called Through Your Eyes, and although there is no specific ship in it, I think you can see in it what you will. It was written with Mal/Inara and Simon/Kaylee in mind, but my wonderful beta picked up a couple of other traces while reading it. That might just be her perverted mind, though. :P Thanks so much for betaing, spiffychocolate!

Hmm... so I made this strong decision that the majority of my fics I write for the Mal/Inara challenge are going to be very short, because I really can't write 100 fics that are over 500 words long in any reasonable length of time.

And then I get this plot bunny that didn't even come from any of the prompts, and I spend hours after writing it trying to cut it down to the word limit of 1000 words. But I did it (just), and I just hope that the result was worth the effort!

OK, I know I only signed up for the fic challenge earlier today, but I really wanted to get started right away. I was feeling all inspired (for once)!

Serenity is in trouble. It has taken less money on Saturday than Friday, which is not good.


Get into the theatre. Now. Take friends. Take family. Again.

TELL PEOPLE. I've got to be honest: if you want more of the 'verse now, you NEED to get out there. Now. Seriously.



Yes, I just stole that off Whedonesque, but it is completely true. Friday, we made $4.2 million. Saturday, we made $3.68m. This is not good. For the love of Joss, Mal and all of the crew, GO AND SEE THIS FILM. See it again. See it with your friends. See it with your family. And then see it with your friends and family again. See it with them individually. See it with them in a group. See it with random people you pulled in off the street.

But if you want to see more of them, or even once wanted more even if you don't now, for god's sake do something about it. Since when have Browncoats ever failed? We got the DVDS, we got the soundtrack, we got the movie, and now we need the sequels.

You know how Veronica Mars spread this summer? Pretty much everybody downloaded those episodes and watched the finale a million times, and then pimped it to all of their friends. Remember that? Yeah, we need to do that. Watch it, watch it some more, pimp it to everybody you have ever met, and then watch it some more on top.

Think of all the things we'll never know if we don't get more sequels. Just think. And then once you've finished crying in horror... do something about it.

And yes, I know I sound hypocritical sitting here and not watching it, ordering everyone to, but it's not like I can do anything but this. Not this weekend. Next weekend, it's my turn. I can't wait for it to be my turn. I feel so helpless about the whole thing right now.

GO. WATCH. Seriously.

Edit: OK, on the Firefly marathon that's on right now, Inara is crying her eyes out. You think this is for Mal? Hell no! She's crying over her ruined future as a moviestar. Do you really want Inara to cry? Do you? Go see the movie, gorramit!

OK, this is me, posting my first ever Firefly fic.

I sweet-talked it, yelled at it, bribed it, threatened it, huggled it, and now I'm finally ready to post it. I'm still not entirely sure what I think of it, but this is the best it's going to get. I'm leaving this f-locked for now, and I'm not planning on linking to any communities as of yet, because, like I said, I'm not entirely sure what to make of it. So pleasepleaseplease, if you read it, tell me what you honestly think. Be as critical as you can, because I really need those sorts of comments and I'd really appreciate them.

Anyway, the fic is called Dignity, and it's a Mal/Inara fic in Inara's point of view, set at after the end of the TV series but particularly focussing on events in Heart of Gold. (spiffychocolate, this means you are not allowed to read it. Got it? :P)

OK, so I mentioned before that my fic 'Shall We Dance?' has been nominated for the MAD Doctor Who Awards (whoo!) in the Best Het catergory. Well, voting is now open, so if anybody happened to read that fic and liked it, and would like to vote for me... please do!

OK, so Joss knows I'm always pimping Firefly. Every change I get, I'm telling people to watch.

There's only one problem with that (apart from me annoying everyone, of course). The minute people turn round and ask me 'So, what's Firefly about?', I have no clue what to say. It's such a complex show, with so many different layers, a huge backstory and fantastic characters, that it's completely impossible to sum up in a sentence. Except, telling people that doesn't really help me to sell so the show.

And so, I've made this post. The idea of it is completely stolen off dollsome, who did something similar for Alias. It's very picture heavy, and it does contain 2 images from the Serenity US trailer, but I hope that it'll be of some use to me when I'm pimping it.

So, if you've ever wondered what this show Firefly is about, wondered what 'shiny' means or who Mal and Inara are, thought about what a weird name 'Serenity' is for a sci-fi movie... read on.

This is a fic for Amy, for her birthday. She said she wanted it, so I wrote it. There's not going to be any summary on it or anything, because... well, I don't think I can even try to summarise it. In my defense for writing it, let me just say that it is very late at night, and that she asked for it.

A short Harry/Ginny ficlet for notsoliljames. The two words the fic is based on are 'H/G' and 'kiss', although his two extra 'just in case' words, blanket-stealing and fluff, inspired this as well. I've no idea how those words brought about this fic, but they did.

It's about a PG rating, and has absolutely no spoilers whatsoever. It's called 'Before the Storm'.

I've written two fics in two weeks! I feel kinda proud of that, as I've been writing at the speed of about a fic a month recently, if not even slower. This is the first of my Two Word Fic Challenge fics, and it's for dollsome. The words were 'Kate/Sawyer' and 'Tuesday'.

It's Kate/Sawyer (obviously) and rated PG-13. Thanks as always to notsoliljames for being my combined beta and cheerleader, even if he was going 'postitpostitpostit' while it was still in the second draft stage. :P Thanks also for helping me come up with a summary, because you know I'm just hopeless at that part of it.

Anyway, better stop rambling and actually post the fic...

My Doctor Who fic is finally done! I'm still not sure if I'm 100% happy with it, but I think if I edit it any more, it'll start going backwards in quality, and I really don't want that to happen.

It's a Doctor/Rose story featuring both Nine/Rose and Ten/Rose, it's called 'This Kiss', and it is full to the brim of spoilers for The Parting of the Ways, so be warned. As usual, I'm going to rate it PG-13, just to be safe.

It sort of deviated from my original plan as I wrote it, but I hope you still like it. It's a short Kate/Sawyer piece, Kate's POV, set about 2 months after the crash, and I'll call it PG-13, to be safe.

Yes, I know this is a few days late, but I decided that it was too important to not do just because I didn't have access to a computer on the actual day. I know a lot of people are paying tribute to a lot of icon makers, but I'm just going to do two in detail: awakencordy and jayl.

awakencordy is an absolute icon making goddess. I swear, half of my icons are made by her. Her style is just so vibrant and beautiful that it really doesn't matter what the subject of her icon is - you just have to admire the icon for the work of art that it is. I think proof of that is the fact that I saved on of her Seth/Summer icons before I'd watched a single episode of The OC, just because I loved it so much - in fact, it was that icon that made me watch the show in the first place. Like I said, she really just rules as an icon maker.

You know how else rules as an icon maker? jayl. She's the person who's made the other half of my icons. I think the thing that's best about Jana's icons is that they're all different - she's not afraid to try different things with her icons, and it really shows in just how damn varied and interesting her icons are. She's the icon maker that, when you look at what she's made, you know you shouldn't be taking any more icons, but you just can't resist saving them all anyway. Jana's also the person who always inspires me to try to make icons - the icons never work out, but her icons are always the ones which inspire me to try again, so I have to thank her for that too.

Icons are something that I take for granted, really, and I am an absolute addict of the things. So thank you so much to all of you for making the fabulous icons that you do! I would make banners, but I'll leave that to the less Photoshop-challenged. Instead I will just say a collective YOU RULE! and leave it at that.

I haven't written any fanfiction in months, and so in school today I decided to write a little one-shot as a warm up before I jump back in. God knows why I decided to write for a ship, let alone a fandom, that I've never written for before, but whatever. dark_willow89 has ordered me to post this, so I'm just going to do this before I delete it. It's unedited, un beta'd, because it was just supposed to be a little exercise... but I'll shut up now, and just post it before I clog up everyone's flists.
